Dr. Simpson is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics at UCLA. He received a BA in Biology from Princeton University in 1962 and a PhD in Parasitology from Rockefeller University in 1967. He has been at UCLA since 1969. Dr. Simpson is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences and a Foreign Member of the Brasilian Academy of Sciences.  He was an Investigator in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at UCLA from 1992-2005.
